In a nail biting final day BlackStar sponsored, Robert Rock, clinched victory in the Italian Open with a five under par 67 concluding round in Turin yesterday (Sun 12th June 2011).

In a spectacular turn of events Rock secured his first victory after eight years on the European Tour, having previously had three runner up spots. Robert carded seven birdies that meant he regained his lead from the first day, finishing -21 only 1 shot ahead of the Danish golfer, Olesen and Boyd, who both finished -20 in second place.

Midlands based Rock was delighted and was reported by Sky Sports to say: "It's a fantastic feeling; it's one of my favourite courses now. Since they changed the venue I have done well here. I was expecting to do well this week but not really expecting this."

BlackStar Director, Ian Fitzpatrick commented: “BlackStar has sponsored Robert for the last year; he is a dedicated golf player and great sportsman to work with.
