BlackStar Sponsorship
With family values at the very heart of the BlackStar ethos we are proud to support the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), which one of our own has had cause to draw on their services. Read on to find out more about this worthy cause and the other sporting men and women supported by BlackStar.
Children’s Liver Disease Foundation
Our relationship with the CLDF began in 2010 when we had the opportunity of providing a fun way to raise funds for them locally. We invited 5 children who are being supported by the CLDF and their parents to the family Twenty20 day at Edgbaston and for each 6 and 4 hit BlackStar put a sum of money in the pot. This was a great incentive for the players and made for a very exciting game as sixes and fours were being hit all over the place!
The children had a wonderful day and lots of money was raised for the charity. However, the day did not end without one more surprise, with a visit from Ashley Giles, Director of Cricket and a renowned England player, after the match. We are very proud to continue and strengthen our support for the CLDF in 2011.

BlackStar also supports the following individuals and events, which we hope will be enjoyed by all the family.
Robert Rock
BlackStar is proud to be sponsoring Robert Rock for a second year in 2011. Robert’s breakthrough season was in 2009 when he achieved three second place finishes including the Irish Open, where he tied for first place but lost to Irish player Shane Lowry in a three-hole playoff and finished the season ranked in the top thirty of the Race to Dubai. Sponsored by BlackStar in 2010 Robert had an equally good year starting the season ranked at 107 in the world with highlights including a tied 7th place in The Open Championship at St Andrews.
Claire Boumphrey
Claire has been going from strength to strength with her team of event horses. Currently in her third year under the BlackStar banner, Claire is pleased to report that her advanced horse, Swynnerton, has taken part in his first BE competition of the 2011 season, the JAS (Jumping And Style) at Sollihull, where he jumped an immaculate double clear to finish 7th, qualifying him for the final at the Addington International Arena. The JAS series is seen as a pre-season warm-up, so it's great to see Claire and Swynnerton get the season off to such a good start. Claire’s other three horses will be making their debuts at the beginning of the season in April.
Surrey County Show
A family favourite, the show-jumping events at the Surrey County Show will be sponsored once again by BlackStar. Many top names in the show-jumping world compete in these two popular classes in the main ring amongst many other attractions that are held on the day.
The Surrey County Show has lots to see and do for the whole family including a farmers’ market, a hot air balloon challenge, a fun fair, acres of shops and trade exhibits as well as a host of other attractions. It’s a day not to be missed.
Warwickshire County Twenty20 Series
With a highly exciting Twenty20 season ahead, with more games than ever, BlackStar is delighted to announce that they have extended their sponsorship for the next two years for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
BlackStar is proud to have an ongoing association with the Warwickshire Bears; the appeal of the domestic Twenty20 Cup is as strong as ever and entertains all ages of cricket fans.
Last season the Warwickshire Bears reached the Friends Provident Twenty20 quarterfinals and the County has high hopes of going even further this season.
